I'm Maya, the maker behind Cozy AF Sweatshop in Tampa. What started as a hobby became this shop. Thank you for spending a little time here.

death & entropy

I think death is beautiful. Not the sharp kind. The slow kind. Rust learning its way across iron. Velvet gone bald at the elbows. Cracks that map every winter a thing has survived. The whole world is quietly letting go of itself, all the time, and most people look away. I can't.

Decay never lies. Everything is borrowed, everything returns, and the returning is gorgeous if you sit with it a while.

So that's what this shop is: the cracked, the chipped, the dented, the forgotten. The pieces everyone else said goodbye to, given one more life. Nothing here is precious. Everything here is a survivor.

Find the thing nobody wants. Make it something. Keep it warm. 🍯

how it's made

Handmade, start to finish, from whatever the piece demands: cast resin, mixed paints, 3D-printed parts, polyurethane, airbrush, salvaged metal, found relics. And time. Nothing here is rushed.

No two pieces come out alike. The strange ones wouldn't dream of it.

A word about imperfections

Attention. Nobody ever bragged about owning the same mug as everyone else.

Here is what chasing perfect for years taught me. I could sand every piece until it looked exactly like the photo, exactly like the last one, and perfect looks like everything else on the internet. So I quit doing that. I am an artist, not a production line. Everything that leaves this shop is handmade, hand finished, and carries the evidence: a stray brush line, a dent from the vise, a little resin wave that set exactly where it wanted, a shade that came out moodier than planned. That evidence is the certificate. It says an artist made this, and no second one exists, and no second one ever will. If you want a real sweatshop, order from Temu, Shein, or Amazon. They do identical beautifully, and cheap. This shop is the other thing. The one of one. If that is your kind of weird, welcome in.

I want you to see the hands in it. I also want it to arrive whole and work as described. A broken piece, a wrong item or a problem with the fit is something to tell me about.
